With the final qualifying spot, Sayles was well on the outside to start the main event. As a result the privateer was near the back at the first corner and while he made it as high as 17th position during the race, he ultimately fell back for a 21st place showing.
The Minneapolis event was the sixth race of the season in the Pro Supercross series, but the first for the East Region.
