Over the past year or so, a rediscovered fascination with the world of racing has prompted the start of this website.
Formerly an employee at a Canadian racing magazine where I specialized as the road racing editor brought great opportunities as I traveled and covered all the country’s biggest events – from regionals at Mosport and Mont Tremblant tracks to the Toronto Indycar Street Race and the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
Relocating to Wisconsin in 2000 I tried to find all the racing I could and while there is a distinct stock car flavor in this state, I found out quick that no matter what your interest, there is something for you.
Interest waned over the years but I became hooked again last season when I started watching Formula 1 and Indycar Racing again.
I have a goal of putting together a site that would include all different types of racing for Wisconsin – something that I think would be kind of unique in the state.
During the off season interest always reaches a peak and I have decided to use Wisconsin involvement at the IMSA Rolex 24 Hours Weekend at Daytona as my own launching pad. With snowmobile or rally car racing, it wouldn’t be hard to find racing in Wisconsin year-round, but for some reason, I have always thought of this event as being the traditional start of a new racing year.
This is going to take some time. I have an interest in any Wisconsin racer…racing anywhere. Please bear with me as I try to track down who’s who in Wisconsin racing, but if you are aware of someone I have not mentioned as the season starts up, please let me know. It is my goal to include everyone.
