Ty Majeski, 23, from Seymour collected another solid finish at a big race, taking third place at the prestigious Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in Opp, AL on Sunday (March 17, 2019).
A regular at the event, Majeski took the checkered flag in both 2016 and 2017 but was unable to defend his back-to-back titles last year.
According to a press release on his own website, Majeski and his crew worked hard battling balance issues through Friday practice sessions but running worn tires Saturday, the team figured it out and topped the timing sheet in both Saturday practice sessions. He wound up fifth in qualifying but like the feel of the car and pronounced himself ready to go for Sunday’s race.
Majeski moved forward quickly and led a bunch of laps through the first half of the race. After the second controlled caution, the team decided to lay back and save their equipment for the end, hoping for another yellow flag to fly. As the laps progressed, That yellow flag never came and the 91 team had to settle for a third place finish.
The team announced in the release details on plans for the remainder of the season will be coming soon.
